I must begin this review by saying that although conception is sometimes a difficult and emotional process, I believe this product is as close as it gets to a miracle. My husband and I had been trying for 13 months before we decided to purchase the Clear Blue Easy Fertility Monitor in June '07.
Prior to us trying I had suffered a miscarriage and had been told that due to severe endometriosis, I may not be able to have children naturally. Needless to say, this was the worst emotional rollercoaster; first discovering I was pregnant when I was told that I could not possibly conceive @ age 27, and then losing the baby shortly after. I took time to grieve and then started to try again after my doctor told me that it was ok. Month after month, I saw negative pregnancy tests and was disappointed but tried to keep it out of my mind. After about 8 months, I decided to change my mindset and focus on my total body, not just my reproductive organs. I began eating a better diet and decided along with my husband to use a fertility monitor, but which one? There are many monitors on the market, so I started researching and the options can be dizzying. I found Clear Blue to be a name that I had known from the many pregnancy tests that I had used, so after reading lots of reviews and reading the instructions on the website on how the item worked, I decided to buy it.
In conjuction with the BBT method (basal body temperature), I would use the monitor. Using the BBT method with this monitor was overkill, because the monitor tells you the exact day that your luteinizing hormone has been released which happens upon ovulation. I just used the BBT method to compare my temperature with what the monitor reported to see if it was actually working. Anyways, my husband and I used the monitor for 3 months and got pregnant after the 3rd cycle. I am happy to report that I am almost 10 weeks. I am praying for a healthy baby and pregnancy, but I had to report that this product assists in giving peace of mind and knowing exactly when you are ovulating. I recommend this product to all who are trying, don't give up. I almost did.
I would only say there is one downfall to this product. Basically if you have an irregular cycle, it could be difficult to use because the monitor needs to be reset every month after your period starts. I know that many women do not have a period monthly so this might cause a problem, but I would recommend resetting it when you have period by removing the batteries and pressing the reset button. This way during the month, you can see if you are ovulating when you do have a normal cycle. I hope that the baby dust finds all of you out there who are hoping for a new addition!

Finally Pregnant from Cleveland, OH on 7/17/2007
We had been trying for two years to get pregnant with no luck. We have tried every trick in the book and always had the same result. My husband's friend had told him about a "machine" that was very expensive, but everyone she knew got pregnant in the second month of using it. After some reserach, I found this monitor and didn't think it was really that expensive. Turns out that I got pregnant in the second month just like our friend had said. This was definitely worth the money and saved us a lot of time and frustration! We should have tried this from the beginning.....if only I had known!
This is the best investment I've made in my life. After four month of trying, my husband got me the monitor. First month, the monitor did not show that I was ovulating. It shows from day 7 to 22 that I am in high fertility level. Second month, the monitor showed that I am ovulating. We took all necessary actions and I am 14 weeks pregnant. I would recommend this monitor, because it showed that I ovulate very early (day 9-10), that's why we were missing it for five months.
With my first child I tried to get pregnant for a year. Nothing was happening so I bought the Clearblue Easy Fertility Monitor. I got pregnant the first month I used it. I used this product again with my second child and was successful even thought I only had one working ovary. This product is easy to use and easy to read. It is able to predict which are your most fertile days by storing information from previous tests that you have taken. If you are having trouble getting pregnant you should consider this product.
The product is easy to use, small enough to be brought along on trips, uses batteries that are readily available at any store (4 AAA batteries), and the instructions are detailed. A friend was able to conceive after just 3 months with the use of this monitor...so we were very excited to purchase it. She and her husband spent an entire year working with a fertility specialist, to no avail. After terminating her treatments with the doctor's fertility clinic, she became pregant and walked into his office with the monitor and said, "You predicted my ovulation time wrong. This thing got it right." The doctor's response? "Huh, maybe we should get some of those for the clinic." On our end, we're in perfect health, have had fertility work-ups to beat the band and tried pretty much every fertility avenue with a slew of doctors who identified our issue as "unexplained infertility" (which is a euphemism for "we don't have a clue")...and then we bought this monitor. We have used it for 3 years, religiously, and we're still hopeful that it might work for us...someday. However, I am thinking that we may need to replace this one since I suspected that it was beginning to read incorrectly after so many years of use, so I inserted a blank test stick (fresh out of the wrapper) and the monitor read it as "high", which was erroneous since it should have been "low." I hope this review is helpful to you...and wish you a speedy and joy-filled conception!

It worked! We have been TTC for 11 months with a very early miscarriage 3 months ago. I just couldn't wait another 8 months to get pregnant again. My sister suggested this monitor. Said she got pregnant the 2nd month using it. I really thought everyone that wrote these reviews must live in a magical land that it worked so well. But, here I am writing the same kind of positive review.
I used the monitor initially for one month taking a break from "trying" so that it could get used to my body and because we needed a break for our mental health. The second month using it, we started trying again and I found out I am pregnant. The monitor helped me realized that I was ovulating about 5-6 days later than I thought I was for 10 MONTHS!. And, like many couples, after BD several days in a row, we were so tired, we are pretty sure we didn't BD ONCE in 10 months during the time I was ACTUALLY ovulating because we had given up for the month by then. By the way, I was using the ovulation predictor kits and I was interpreting them wrong about when I was ovulating. There is no misinterpreting this monitor. It's either babymaking time or it's not. There was no guessing and not worry that we were "missing the egg."
It really took the pressure off. Of course, I'm not out of the woods as far as miscarriage is concerned, but I'm so happy it was so EASY to conceive FINALLY after months of frustration. Good luck!
I swear by it!! My husband and I tried to conceive a baby for 9 months. Then I broke down and bought the clear plan monitor. I was pregnant the next month! Yes, it is expensive, but in the grand scheme of what it costs to raise a child, it's just a drop in the bucket. As for being able to give you mine, I don't have it anymore... I passed it on to someone else! Best of luck.
AGE 38, AND PREGNANT AFTER 3 MONTHS, December 13, 2007
I had seen this monitor a while back, but figured I'd try on my own first, since I have very regular cycles and can actually feel when I ovulate every month. But after two months and no luck, I then tried the OTC ovulation/LH surge strips - also without success. I could hear the clock ticking louder and louder, since I'd had a miscarriage with my first pregnancy last year, and I'm already 38... so I FINALLY decided to buy this, since it had received such stellar reviews, with so many women saying they got pregnant within the first several months....(check the reviews on other sites as well). Not much of an optimist (because I was tired of being disappointed every month), especially given my age (DON'T read the statistics regarding age and chances of pregnancy - it'll just depress you), we used it for three months. It was pretty cool, because it gives you a much longer fertility window than just the regular test strips, since it also tells you of the estrogen surge (which occurs before the LH surge). I charted all of this every month (just on a calendar), and this last cycle had FOUR days of "high" fertility (past months only 2 days) followed by two days of "peak" fertility (LH surge) - and I'M PREGNANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I highly doubt this would've happened with the LH strips, because I might've only caught ONE peak day (LH surge), and wouldn't have known of the "high" fertility days leading up to it!! DO YOURSELF A FAVOR - IF YOU REALLY WANT TO GET PREGNANT, AND DON'T HAVE TIME TO WASTE, GET THIS MONITOR!!! You will really appreciate the accuracy of information, and will obtain a longer fertility window - KEY!!! It may seem costly, but imagine the cost of seeing an infertility specialist and undergoing all of the testing (we had just had our first appt several weeks ago, and were ready to start down that road....)!
We used the Clear Plan Fertility Monitor with great success. For us it was wonderful. I have always had a very irregular cycle (ranging from 17-40 days), so it was very useful to know when my fertile time was. The machine tracks the rise of your estrogen as well as your LH (which is the only thing the ovulation kits track). After about a month or two, it is "tuned in" to your cycle and is very accurate to sense these hormone changes. If you have a regular cycle, you probably will do just as well with either nothing or the ovulation kits, which are more expensive per test, but less expensive if you only need a few tests to know your most fertile time. I started tracking my cycle a number of months before we started trying, and we got pregnant within 4 months. My sister and then my friend also used it. They both got pregnant the first month using it, but they both also had very regular cycles, so it may have had nothing to do with the monitor. The bottom line is if your cycles are irregular, or you have been trying for a while and the "other" methods are not working, it may be worth thinking about, especially if you plan to have more than one child. I defiantly plan to pull mine out when we start to try again.
