Many infants have one or more blocked tear ducts at the time of their birth. Newborns do not actually produce tears until they are a few weeks old, but after that time if you notice that your baby’s crying is not producing tears, it may be due to a blocked tear duct. Your pediatrician can confirm if this is the case. Most tear ducts clear up by the time the baby is one year old without any medical intervention.

A yellow tinge to the baby’s skin or eye whites may indicate that the baby has jaundice. A physician should inspect all babies who appear yellow, as soon as symptoms arise. Jaundice is easily treated by physicians, however it can become life threatening if ignored.

Blood tests are done in a doctor's office. They can pick up hCG earlier in a pregnancy than urine tests can. Blood tests can tell if you are pregnant about six to eight days after you ovulate.

As a medical diagnosis, advanced maternal age serves as a heads up for healthcare professionals. It simply means the woman is 35 or older, which could make getting pregnant problematic. Or, if she is already pregnant, she or her baby might be more prone to certain risks.

Treatments include surgery to correct or repair anatomic abnormalities or damage to reproductive organs, use of medical procedures to deliver sperm to the woman, fertilization of the egg in a laboratory, and using a third party for donating sperm or eggs and/or carrying a pregnancy.

Sometimes, female infertility is related to a hormone problem. In this case, symptoms can also include: skin changes, including more acne, changes in sex drive and desire, dark hair growth on the lips, chest, and chin, loss of hair or thinning hair, weight gain.
