Most miscarriages will pass naturally, meaning that the foetal tissue will pass from the body without any medical intervention. Some women will either voluntarily decide upon or be complied through necessity to have a D & C, which is a minor surgical procedure that removes tissue from the uterus or take medication that triggers contractions, which will hasten the miscarriage along.
