First response for me has to be the most reliable pregnancy test on the market. Not only is it reasonably priced this test can be used up to 4 days before your period is due. I used this test 3 days before my period was due and it was at night and i got a clear positive result. I find this test reliable, good value for money and quick and simple to use. I've never had a false positive or a false negetive result while using this test and i would reccomend it to all. Also if you have any problems while using this test they have a good website with questions and answers and they also have a helpline. Not that i've ever had the need to use. Excellent all round

I wasn't even 4 wks pregnant when this test gave me my + result! I've been told to use first morning urine when taking a pregnancy test to get better results. I took the test mid afternoon and I got a faint line (visible from about 10 ft away). My hcg numbers weren't even in the triple digits yet (I had them checked a week later).
If you want accurate results...early, then buy this pregnancy test!!!

I started using this brand because of the whole "five days sooner" ads. I was pregnant in the spring, and I took advantage of the early testing period, and it showed a very, very faint pink line. As it got closer to my period, subsequent tests showed a darker pink line. Nature took an unfortunate turn a few weeks later, but thankfully, I ended up having to use these tests again in early fall. I experienced the same faint pink lines that grew darker as time went by, and now I'm expecting in June!
These are very simple to use- just take out of the wrapper, put it in the urine stream, then put the protective tip on the end. I have found that positive results don't usually take the entire 5 minute wait unless you are testing very early. I've never had an evaporation line with any negative test from First Response.
I definitely like getting these in multi-pack boxes!! Don't get just one-you will be too tempted to test again regardless of the result.

First Response comes in a pink and white box of standard size. Inside you will find a "stick" i.e. the test itself and a small instruction sheet which I recommend you read at least twice before you start and the actual directions for usage at least 3 times. These things are too expensive to risk doing it wrong. The stick is cased in foil to keep it fresh and out of exposure to moisture, check the test first to make sure it's ok .
It's a very simple test to perform and you can use it any time of the day or collect it, same as most other brands really. Make sure you have the test the right way up when you urinate on the stick and keep it in for the right amount of time, this is the one time in your life you really don't want to be second guessing if you did it right.
If you follow the test instructions properly then you will be able to read your result in 3 minutes. If you are using this test the day you are due or later then you will probably see an instant result but wait the three minutes to be sure it wasn't a strange test defect. If you are pregnant you will see two pink vertical lines if not then you will only see one. If you see none then the test wasn't performed right or was defective.
No matter why you are testing (trying or an opps) I recommend you buy the double box. You can buy either one test which will cost between £7 and £8 or the double which
will set you back about £11-£12 from an average chemists. If you buy the double and you test positive you can double check for added peace of mind a couple of days later and if it's negative you can either save the second for next month or retest a week later.
It really is that simple - at least the actually testing bit is.

Highly recommended. Easy to use, easy to read. I must admit I waited until I missed my period by two weeks before using the test though (just to make sure it was worth opening those expensive tests and I hadn't had an early miscarriage). For me, pink lines were very dark and appeared in less than 5 seconds.

I took 2 First Response tests 4 days before I was supposed to get my period. I got faint lines on both tests. I went to the Dr. a few days later and found out that I was indeed pregnant. I would recommend this product.
