It is okay to over eat while pregnant using the old 'eating for two' justification.
Being pregnant isn't an excuse to binge on your favourite foods. In fact, doing so can be very unhealthy for both the expectant mother and her baby. Daily calorie requirements will only shift marginally, and increase by around 300 calories a day.
Lifting a small child or toddler can trigger a miscarriage
This is another one of those miscarriage myths that people pass on as a fact. Bending down to lift a child does not in any way cause a woman to miscarry. Meaning it’s safe to carry around children, or at least until it becomes a physical impossibility.
Smoking only negatively affects pregnancy and does not affect fertility.
Smoking ages your ovaries and depletes your eggs prematurely.
Ovulation testing detects an increase in Progesterone production before ovulation.
An over-the-counter ovulation prediction kit — a test that you can perform at home — detects the surge in luteinizing hormone (LH) that occurs before ovulation.
What condition is not likely to occur with a pregnancy after 35 years of age?
B)
High blood pressure for the mom
The risk of high blood pressure during pregnancy is about double for women over 35 compared with younger ones; hypertension affects about 10 to 20 percent of pregnant women in this age group. Gestational diabetes is two to three times more common in women over age 35 than in younger women, and recent studies show the risk is even higher if the woman has gained weight over the years. Age 35 to 39 is also when women are most likely to have twins.
PCOS may be inherited.
Most experts think that several factors, including genetics, could play a role. Women with PCOS are more likely to have a mother or sister with PCOS.
