Getting an immense fright can cause a woman to miscarry.
This is an old myth that is sometimes passed as fact, as many myths or old wives tales undoubtedly are. Getting a fright, for example a woman jumping because someone scares them, will not result in a miscarriage. So, it is perfectly okay for pregnant women to watch scary films or venture into a haunted house.
