At around week 16, an unborn baby’s aural structures are quite well developed. He or she should be able to detect some noise, though it will be restricted to the inner noises of mom’s body. By week 24, he or she will be able to hear noises outside the womb, and may respond to mom or dads voice.

Blood tests are done in a doctor's office. They can pick up hCG earlier in a pregnancy than urine tests can. Blood tests can tell if you are pregnant about six to eight days after you ovulate.

Since your body temperature rises after you release an egg (ovulation), if you chart your temperature, it can tell you when you’re most fertile.

Use of injectable fertility drugs to induce ovulation can cause OHSS, in which your ovaries become swollen and painful.

Some medications (e.g. phenothiazines) as well as extremes of weight loss, stress or exercise can cause this type of secondary amenorrhea. A pituitary or hypothalamic tumor would be a rare finding in these patients who were all screened with prolactin levels at the beginning of the diagnostic evaluation. However, if there is no cause apparent from the history, it is sometimes suggested to get a baseline CT or MRI scan of the sellar region to rule out a (very rare) tumor.

These include the testes, where sperm is made, several ducts (tubes) where sperm is stored, and the penis. The penis has a single duct called the urethra; this releases both sperm and urine. Also included in the male reproductive system are the accessory sex glands, which include the prostate gland and seminal vesicles.
